Case Study - Emergency App

With user-centered approach, the goals was to create an intuitive interface for effortless financial management while incorporating gamification.

The Problem Statement

Design a cutting-edge mobile application or platform intended to effectively connect individuals facing dire circumstances during disasters with compassionate volunteers or professionals ready to offer assistance


Kedarnath

In 2013, Between June 13 and 17, the state of Uttarakhand had received an unusual amount of rainfall. This led to the melting of the Chorabari glacier and the eruption of the Mandakini river.There was constant rain and flooding, as well as falling buildings. More than 4000 people were killed, and many families were shattered as sons and wives, parents, and children went missing and were never found

Qualitative Research

The lack of data in the context of disaster resilience-that can be plugged through app-based crowdsourcing-is in sharp contrast to the smartphone and internet usage boom in the country.I interviewed around 5-8 people at near by my place who will work in various domains like IT sector,Bankers,Finance officers and others they have love towards humanity and helping others peoples in difficult times.

Interview Insights

1.Need a app which could get or help people easy like easy navigation through maps,

User Persona & Empathy Maps

Personas are hypothetical users whose goals and characteristics represent the needs of a larger group of users. User Personas include behavior patterns, goals, skills, attitudes, and background information, as well as the environment in which a persona operates. We add context-specific details to understand the persona not only when they use the digital products but also the surrounding around them.

By understanding the motivations and frustrations of target users, it’s possible to design a product that will satisfy users’ needs. We also created an empathy map to understand every user kind who has a different way of approach. Empathizing helps us recognize the users and gain a perspective similar to theirs. These users are very much like how the real users act in the real world. This allows us to prioritize feature requests.

In June 2013, however, it was hit by an early monsoon, which was exacerbated by an unusual weather phenomenon.These disturbances originate over the captain sea black area, where they carry moisture and flow towards the arabian sea region, where they also pull moisture from the arabian sea, and where the two systems interact, resulting in rain fall.

Aishwarya & her family finished their prayers at the temple & returned to their guesthouse, which is near by 50 meters.

Amit, another family, was travelling from Rajasthan with a group of eight people. When he heard people running, he took his family and began running towards the collapsed bridge, and they ran towards a guest house filled with a large crowd.The guest house was began to fill with water as a result of the constant rain, and people began to run.unfortunately he lost 5 of them.
In another section, Government received an SOS call, indicating that something had occurred, from the automatic weather station. The government dispatched a helicopter to check on the situation in Kedarnath, and when they discovered the extent of the devastation, they launched an operation to save human lives, deploying 16 helicopters. Rescue and other agencies were also established by the NDRF.
